Bouwe is actively involved in the Association for Homeschooling and the Pestalozzi Trust and has taken part in various meeting with Department officials since 2004. With his family he has been running the SAHomeschoolers website since 2010.

VAN : Pestalozzi Trust vir tuis- en burgerlike onderwys - 4 Januarie 2012 Ontleding van die resultaat in die 2011 matriekeksamen toon dat tuisleerders weereens uitstekend presteer het. Voorlopige resultate van die Eksamenraad vir Christelike Onderwys (ERCO) geskryf het, toon dat ongeveer 500 bona fide tuisleerder die eksamen geskryf het en ’n slaagsyfer van ongeveer 93% behaal het.
