Online High School, Primary School and Pre-Primary School — CAPS Curriculum with IEB and SACAI Matric Pathways

Teneo Online School is an accredited South African online school teaching Grade R to Grade 12 on the national CAPS curriculum, in English and — from Grade 4 — in Afrikaans. From Grade 10, learners write the National Senior Certificate through the IEB or SACAI.

Accreditation

Teneo is registered with the Independent Examinations Board (registration number 11489) and the South African Comprehensive Assessment Institute (registration number 99304), under their concession for Umalusi certification. Learners write final NSC examinations in person at registered examination centres and receive the same Umalusi-issued National Senior Certificate as any other matriculant.

Learning options

  • Families choose how their child learns, and can change option in the first term:
  • 100% Live Classes — a full live, teacher-led timetable
  • Mix of Live and Recorded Classes
  • 100% Recorded Classes — from Grade 4
  • Without Classes — homeschooling with teacher-marked assessments and termly reports, from Grade 4
  • Without Classes and Reports — homeschooling on content modules, from Grade 4

2027 fees

Tuition runs from R800 a month for homeschooling on content modules to R6,800 a month for 100% Live Classes in Grade 12. A 5% sibling discount applies to each child after the first on the class options. Registration is R1,850 on class options, R750 or R500 on the homeschooling options, and lower for learners joining from term 2. An education term loan of up to R500,000 is available to Teneo families.

Measurable academic improvement

Independent actuarial analysis of every Teneo learner enrolled between 2023 and 2025 found average mark improvements of 12% within the first year and 25% by the fourth year — consistent across all ability levels, from a non-selective intake. Learners with ADHD, autism or dyslexia show similar or greater improvement.

2025 matric results

892 Teneo learners matriculated in 2025 with an 80% overall pass rate and 406 distinctions. 90% of those who passed qualified for tertiary study. In the SACAI stream, Teneo learners passed at 82.2% against the SACAI national average of 73.16%. Eight IEB learners ranked in the national top 1% in their subjects, and two SACAI learners achieved the highest marks in South Africa — in Accounting and in Afrikaans Home Language. Teneo has educated more than 20,000 learners and produced over 4,000 matriculants since 2018.

The Smart School System™

Teneo’s learning platform combines live teaching, real-time analytics, behavioural science and AI. It tracks engagement and performance daily, flagging learners who begin to slip so teachers can intervene early rather than at report time. Parents have continuous visibility through the Teneo Parent App.

Beyond academics

More than 40 extramurals, clubs and wellness activities, from sport and debate to yoga, social connect sessions and enrichment programmes.

Admissions

Open year-round, with no entrance tests and no academic qualification criteria. Enrolment takes three steps in under five minutes, with documents uploaded after payment. Learners typically start within about six business days.
